Coming together for one purpose -- Standing strong against violence

 

•         Our Vision:

•         A community free of violence through strong partnerships and leadership

•         Our Mission:

•         To assist program to provide accessible domestic violence awareness, education, advocacy, referrals and community/state partnership

•         Our Goals

•         Partner with community programs to build a strong domestic violence infrastructure

•         Develop and share data and statistics

•         Foster and develop partnerships

•         Maximize resources, educate individuals and empower the community through education

•         Advocate for those who need a voice

•         Continue to remember the victims and celebrate the survivors

•         Have all 11 districts hold Domestic Violence Vigil in the month of October

•         Educate the next generation that we have a choice to live a non-violent lifestyle

 

Are you being abused?

 

•         Physical abuse

•         Shove, hit, slap bite, choke, kick cut or burn you?

•         Endangers you or your children with reckless driving?

•         Throws objects or restrains you?

•         Abandon you or lock you out of the house?

•         Emotional Abuse

•         Says you’re stupid, filthy, lazy, nasty, silly, etc., Makes you cry on purpose

•         Withholds affection to punish you?

•         Ask who would want you besides him/her?

•         Threatens to kill you, or self if you leave

•         Controls all the money

•         Sexual Abuse

•         Forces you to have sex when you do not want to

•         Criticizes your sexual performance

•         Threatens to have sex with someone else if you do not perform a sexual act you do not want to

•         Degrades you by making fun of your body

•         Destructive Acts

•         Breaks furniture, ransacks, or dumps garbage in your home. Slash tires, breaks windows, steals, tampers with car parts, or disables it in someway

•         Kills or hurts pets to punish or frighten you

•         Identifying Resources

•         Collaborating with existing agencies and programs such as police department, hospitals, religious groups in the communities

•         Supporting all events that create awareness by volunteering, identifying needs in the communities

•         Develop relationships between programs, agencies and first responders and communities
